There is plenty of free Halloween fun available in East Texas this year. You can stay safe and have a great Halloween without spending any money. 2020 Tractor Treat

Wednesday October 28, 2020 5:30 – 7:00 | Located in the parking lot of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church  | 10519 FM 344 Whitehouse, Texas 75791

Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Whitehouse, TX is putting on its annual event called ‘Tractor Treat’. This event is open to the public and includes fun activities for the kids including bounce houses, inflatable obstacle courses, hayrides. There will also be plenty of candy for your kids to collect. There is free food available to everyone and it all happens in an environment that is family-friendly and that allows for social distancing. 

Trunk or Treat at FUMC Lindale

Wednesday October 28, 2020 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM | Located in the parking lot of FUMC Lindale | 402 W Hubbard St. Lindale, TX 75771

If you are busy on the weekend but still want to join in on the Halloween fun, consider going to the ‘Trunk or treat’ event put on by First United Methodist Church and LifeSource Community Church in Lindale on Wednesday October 28, 2020. The event is free to everyone and will be held outdoors to allow for social distancing. Your kids can dress up, play games, have their faces painted, and get plenty of candy during this event. There will also be food trucks onsite if you want to make an evening of it and eat while you are there. 


Trunk or Treat at Lane’s Chapel UMC 

Saturday October 31, 2020 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM | Lane’s Chapel UMC | 8720 Old Jacksonville Hwy, Tyler, TX 75703

If you are looking for a trunk or treat event that is happening on Halloween, consider going to the Lane’s Chapel trunk or treat in Tyler. This event is on Saturday October 31, 2020 from 4 to 6 pm. There will be games, booths, candy, and plenty of fun for the whole family. To protect your health and that of others you will be asked to wear a mask to this event. 

Pumpkin Patch

Throughout October at Lane’s Chapel UMC 

Hours: Saturdays 9am to dusk, Sundays after morning church to 5pm, and Monday-Friday from 11 am to dusk. | Lane’s Chapel UMC | 8720 Old Jacksonville Hwy, Tyler, TX 75703

Lane’s Chapel also has a pumpkin patch that is open throughout the month of October. You can visit the pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin, take a hayride, have your picture taken with the pumpkins, and play games. It is a fun outdoor event that can be an alternative to traditional trick or treating. 


Things to Do for Halloween in Longview, TX

The Longview Mall is offering two fun events as alternatives to trick or treating. These events include ‘Boo and Brew’ and the ‘Candy Crawl’.

Boo and Brew

Saturday October 24, 2020 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM | Longview Mall | 3500 McCann Rd. Longview, TX 75605

Boo and Brew is a family-friendly event that celebrates everything Fall. There will be food trucks, a DJ, beer, root beer floats, s’mores, temporary tattoos, pumpkin painting, cupcake walk with prizes, and more. This is also a great event to enjoy as a couple or with friends. 

Candy Crawl

Saturday October 31, 2020 5:00 PM | Longview Mall | 3500 McCann Rd. Longview, TX 75605

The Candy Crawl is a trick or treating event that takes place in the Longview Mall. You can get all the fun of trick or treating without walking around neighborhoods in the dark. You can also get a non-candy treat by visiting the teal pumpkin table at the Center Court of the mall. Masks and Social Distancing are mandatory at this event.


Things to Do for Halloween in Texarkana, TX 

Drive-thru Trunk or Treat

Saturday, October 31 from 4PM-6PM | Spring Lake Park, located at 4303 N Park Road Texarkana, TX 75501

The City of Texarkana, Texas Parks, and the police departments are teaming up to host a Drive-thru trunk or treat event. At this event your kids can dress up and get candy while remaining safe and socially distanced in your vehicle. 


Things to Do for Halloween in Paris, TX

Pull-up Trunk or Treat

Thursday October 29th, from 5:00-7:00 PM | SignatureCare Emergency Center – Paris | 3055 Northeast Loop 286 Paris,TX 75460

SignatureCare Emergency Center in Paris is putting on a pull-up trunk or treat to provide safe and socially distanced fun. Handouts and goodies will be sanitized before they are handed to your kids. All employees and volunteers will be wearing masks and participants are asked to wear masks and maintain social distancing during the event. 


Things to do for Halloween in Texas

Curbside Trick or treating at Lowe’s  

Lowe’s is hosting curbside trick or treating at locations throughout the country. You can bring your kids in their costumes, drive up, and receive candy and a small pumpkin without ever getting out of your vehicle. Check out the Lowe’s website for more information.

Drive In Movie and Costume Parade

Friday October 30, 2020 starting at 6:00 | Crossroads Bible Church | 8101 Justin Road, Double Oak, TX 75077 

You can still have some Halloween fun without trick or treating by going to the drive-in movie and costume parade in Double Oak, TX. Double Oak is in North Texas near Lewisville/Denton. There will be photo spots set up, three food trucks, and a costume parade to allow everyone to show off their costumes. The movie ‘Monster’s University’ will be played on the big screen. Each family is asked to bring one can of vegetables per person as an ‘entrance fee’. All canned goods will be donated.
